The thread title is 5 biggest disappointments not 5 worst games. If I was looking for 5 worst games it would be Petz and Horsez and other suchs games. |
Typo and correcting it now (I caught it at the end, forgot to change it in the first sentence).
As for my list in no particular order:
- Madden 2010 (360)- I know you're thinking what? A sports game!? but I like to get these games about every other year because they are fun diversions and easy achievements. I picked up Madden 2010 because I wanted some easy achievements and a fun diversion and I got neither. What's worse, they took out auto-sim so I couldn't just auto-sim defense since I generally hate playing defense.
- Little Big Planet (PS3)- Once you get past the art style you've got an average platformer with a level editor and nothing else. I tried to really like this game, but it just wasn't that fun and user created levels were in general God-awful.
- Eye of Judgment (PS3)- Ah, another game I really wanted to like that I heard good things from people. I fucking hate. this. game. It's horribly unbalanced, the AI cheats, the camera only works well if you have the perfect setup, and just isn't that fun. It's sad because I really like CCG's and wanted to really like this game.
- Magic: the Gathering (XBLA)- This one is upsetting because it could have been a *wonderful* game. You buy the game and then expansions come out on a semi-regular basis and you have instant cash cow. Too bad they completely fucked it by by that damn 2.5 second timer and not actually being able to build your own deck. I soooooooo wanted to love this game because, again, I really like CCG's but those two things that seem like such little problems kept this game from being really good and a huge dissappointment instead.
- Okami (Wii) - Yeah, PS2 game, but I didn't play it until it came out on Wii. I wanted to like this game but it's hard to like a game when the first hour or two is just giant walls of text (and I know I got on cklm about this very same thing, oh well, I'm a hypocrite). I just wanted to play the game but the game would not stop talking at me. I can get past something like that in say, Paper Mario, because the writing is so clever and they at least break it up a little more, but I just couldn't bear Okami. I wanted to give the game a good chance since I've been hearing people rave about it for years, just sometimes I don't want to read that much.
