About Fable II, the game itself was pretty meh once you figured out how to completely break the combat but that said, it has probably one of the greatest endings of all time.

Never got to the end I quit a few hours into the game and traded it in.

So you barely played a game for a hours and labaled it as one of the worst games this gen?  I perfectly get not liking it, not every game is for everybody, but you should at least give a game a chance before labeling it that big of a dissappointment.

The thread title is 5 biggest disappointments not 5 worst games. If I was looking for 5 worst games it would be Petz and Horsez and other suchs games.

Typo and correcting it now (I caught it at the end, forgot to change it in the first sentence).

As for my list in no particular order:

  1. Madden 2010 (360)- I know you're thinking what?  A sports game!? but I like to get these games about every other year because they are fun diversions and easy achievements.  I picked up Madden 2010 because I wanted some easy achievements and a fun diversion and I got neither.  What's worse, they took out auto-sim so I couldn't just auto-sim defense since I generally hate playing defense.
  2. Little Big Planet (PS3)- Once you get past the art style you've got an average platformer with a level editor and nothing else.  I tried to really like this game, but it just wasn't that fun and user created levels were in general God-awful.
  3. Eye of Judgment (PS3)- Ah, another game I really wanted to like that I heard good things from people.  I fucking hate. this. game.  It's horribly unbalanced, the AI cheats, the camera only works well if you have the perfect setup, and just isn't that fun.  It's sad because I really like CCG's and wanted to really like this game.
  4. Magic: the Gathering (XBLA)- This one is upsetting because it could have been a *wonderful* game.  You buy the game and then expansions come out on a semi-regular basis and you have instant cash cow.  Too bad they completely fucked it by by that damn 2.5 second timer and not actually being able to build your own deck.  I soooooooo wanted to love this game because, again, I really like CCG's but those two things that seem like such little problems kept this game from being really good and a huge dissappointment instead.
  5. Okami (Wii) - Yeah, PS2 game, but I didn't play it until it came out on Wii.  I wanted to like this game but it's hard to like a game when the first hour or two is just giant walls of text (and I know I got on cklm about this very same thing, oh well, I'm a hypocrite).  I just wanted to play the game but the game would not stop talking at me.  I can get past something like that in say, Paper Mario, because the writing is so clever and they at least break it up a little more, but I just couldn't bear Okami.  I wanted to give the game a good chance since I've been hearing people rave about it for years, just sometimes I don't want to read that much.

Bad list imo

/thread

You do know that different people have different opinions yes? I didn't know it was a sin to criticize assassin's creed for being a very limited experience.

It is not always the case around here. In some cases, you are not allowed to have a negative opinion about certain games. It is also a sin to criticize those certain games.

Just to let you know.

@SmokedHostage

Yeah.. first you post stuff like "omg he is a troll because he is disappointed with nintendo games" (and propably go cry to mods about my personal opinions). No, that is perfectly reasonable behaviour. I see your point now.

If I made a comment like "Here are a bunch of 360 exclusive games I was disappointed by, even though my expectations weren't that high, they still managed to disappoint me." I'd expect  someone to point out that I'm trolling.

Pixel Art can be fun.

I think the problem is that this is a thread about dissappointments.  It's pretty clear you don't like the Wii and its games so you can just assume you don't have much faith in those games listed so they can't really be dissappointments.

why don't you actually follow the spirit of the thread instead of doing good ol' fashioned stealth trolling and list games that did actually dissappoint you?

I don't think so. At least I would not be saying that.

@twestern

I am sorry, but those games are the biggest disappointments for me.

edit:

Due to moderation of this site, I am no longer responding any comments about my list.

I disagree with Assasin's Creed and Fable II. I really liked them.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

You were cool until now .... I WILL GET THE LAST LAUGH when Assassin's Creed II wins game of the year!
*runs away crying*

More hate for Assassin's Creed! ;_;

Okay, so it's perfectly justified hate. Still, I like the game a lot and it wouldn't  be on my list of biggest disappointments.

I agree with RE5, that game was VERY disappointing.

your list had fair reasons, mine would go like this:

1) Ratchet and Clank ToD
not as fun or addicintg or even funny as the PS2 Ratchets. I guess its cuz the PS2 games were rated T and the PS3s are rated E10.

2)MotorStorm
really broing IMO. No multiplayer. Really low replay vallue.

3) Halo ODST
its basically Halo 3 but with a new campaign. Firefight is really fun, but you cant just join a match, you have to have all your friends in a party in order to play.

4)Socom Confrontation
online is fun now that there isnt that much lag, but its still missing the thing which made socom so good in the first place... THE CAMPAIGN

5) Halo Wars
not what I expected, low replay value.

5. Super Mario Galaxy- It was a great game, but I just expected more from it and therefor I was disappointed

4. Bioshock- See #5

3. Crysis- Besides the graphic(and messing with chickens) there really wasn't much to this game. It had a but load of glitches and the lack of any kind of co-op was disappointing

2. Gears of War- this was hyped as a killer app for the 360. What I got was an average 3rd person shooter. The only reason that it isn't number one is that it has co-op

1. Killzone 2- See #3, and this is the main reason that I wanted a PS3 in the first place. Didn't live up to the hype at all. Mostly due to the lack of co-op, colors, and poor controls

I agree with these

-Asasins's Creed was epic for about 20 mins

-Lair epic fail

-Fable II almost as disappointing as Fable I

But i would add:

-Haze...so much for the killer FPS lolololol

-Halo 3- decent but not the epicness i expected
