For those saying time alone i would have to disagree, although it is part of the equation.

I would say the willingness to play many kinds of games regardless of system/genre, a passion not only for games but for the gaming industry, general skillfulness in games across genres, the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new games/controllers etc quickly and you spend a significant amount of time gaming.
