Forums - Microsoft - Is Magna Carta 2 The Best JRPG Since Tales of Vesperia?

Demon's Souls is still a JRPG, just like VC is, too. It is also the only JRPG this gen to be AAA. Maybe even so till FF13 gets released.

Playing and finishing games first>>>>>>>>>>Then talking!

Opinions are subjective and just like moods, can change.

Magnacarta II's metacritic average: 76

I've heard from more than one reviewer now that the combat is repetitive though. Apparently you basically do chain attacks and you're pretty much supposed to do that for the whole game. Eternal Sonata's repetitiveness drove me insane and that was a shorter game.

That's lower than Disgaea 3, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, and Tales of Vesperia.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Don't forget ...the best reviews almost always come first.

not that I bashing this game (it may look like I am doing so) but I just don't want that someone buys it and hates it.

To be fair theres only 37 reviews out and It's at a 90. Gamerankings also has it barely over a 90. Sadly I think people will rate it lower just based on difficulty, so I think in the end it will fall below 90 which is below Persona 4's metacritic (which had a 92 on gamerankings) while not on a "next gen" console it was released just last year for the PS2.

From what I've read Magna Carta 2 is a good RPG. IGN didn't like it tho.

It's just that simple.

^ Out of 37 reviews, 27 of them are 90+.

32 of 37 are 86+.

35 of 37 are 80+.

Still great numbers for a game that came out of nowhere.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

I was pleasantly surprised, when I booted up this game yesterday...the cheesy dialogue has been at a minimum, and the combat system is far more to my liking than normal JRPGs. Even the open combat field of battle is better as to...SO for example...no roving mobs of ??? that make no sense. No illogical plot devices like...no range weapons because of....
