I think it is pretty damn impressive what the PS3 has achived graphically in it's short life, this is bearing in mind that there is suppose to be "no difference" between the HD consoles.

History has shown console games improve (graphics wise) as the console ages.

I can see games looking even better in the future.

A common misconception. That's why I detest the label: "HD Twins". They are VERY different.

Hence the quotes. I do not pretend to understand all the techy stuff about the processors and graphics chips everyone else seems to be so familiar with.

As someone said, any fool can look at two games and know if one looks significantly better.

2 million polys per frame?!? Damn... that's 120 mil polys/second if the game is running at 60fps!

I remember when Nintendo boasted that the 64 could do 600,000 polys per second, nearly double that of the PS1, and Sony used to boast about the PS2's Emotion Engine doing something like 20 mil polys per second in theory... of course it came nowhere near that point in actual gameplay, but still this just goes to show how far we've come since the so-called "polygon wars" began.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

No, not these in-game characters. The nanosuit character in a cutscene maybe according to some.

Just goes to show what PS3 is capable of when people understand how to utilize it properly. Killzone 2 and now Uncharted 2 have given us a taste. There's no way it's anywhere near maxed out. Maybe we'll have Crysis level graphics by end-gen...

Honestly, do JRPG makers even realize how hard it is to save the world? That shit is impossible!
