I think it is pretty damn impressive what the PS3 has achived graphically in it's short life, this is bearing in mind that there is suppose to be "no difference" between the HD consoles.
History has shown console games improve (graphics wise) as the console ages.
I can see games looking even better in the future.
Why can't somebody just evaluate and tell us the maximum power of a cell?

Allow me to elaborate.
The cell is very capable when it comes to rendering graphics and according to santa monica they have spe's do around half of the output images calculations before the frame is even sent to the graphics card.

Has already been done, the PS3 Cell can deliver ~218 GFlops, true world tests have shown near full efficiency is possible unlike for most other processors (for example Xenon can in theory can do ~77 GFlops, but is less efficient). The Cell's SPUs are very flexible with regard to what they can do, usually at amazing speeds if code is optimised for them.
