The reviewer made a point that Gears of War 2 perfected what Killswitch made popular. He stated that Uncharted does all these things well and is a amazing game that doesn't overstay its welcome, but didn't really set any standards. Gears is kinda revolutionary for a console TPS if you think about it.

Game reviews have always been slightly iff, veering between no more than an opinion to an informed critique and back again.

My advice is never rely on one site or reviewer but look at a sample.

Reviews are not broke, it is the point system that is broken. I think the star system works great or even the "buy it, rent it, skip it" system works.

With the star you either have "Hated it / Disliked it / Liked it / Really Liked it / Loved it"

When you bring the point system in people relate that to grades that we receive in school. A 7.5 is a good game, but people see it as a 'C' which is frowned upon in the real world. Assassin's Creed, a great game, got multiple 7.0ish reviews. I absolutely loved the game despite it's grind. Just because it got a 7.5 doesn't mean its a bad game.

Now if you would have given it a star, you would have given it a 3/5 star or 4/5 star, depending on how you enjoyed the game. There, now you don't relate so much on "it's a C game."

Just my humble opinion on the reviewing industry, but the most ideal.

I think he means in terms of multiplats being inferios which was the case early on.

I agree with the inconsistency of some Reviewers and I also agree that the review system is broken. Also, I agree about gametrailers, but not that Uncharted 2 should have scored higher. I just believe, exspecially after hearing their reason for the score, that they just rated some other games higher then they should have. It seriously seems like they give some big franchises a free pass in many areas as well as many, many other reviewers. I know that Uncharted 2 will be absolutely amazing, and possibly my 2nd favorite game this gen, but even I think that Uncharted 2 is another game with an inflated score. I don't believe the average should be a 97 on metacritic.

On topic, get over it. If you like the game then play it, don't complain that it got low reviews. And if you don't like a game doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a high score because that means other people liked it.

So..."reviewers hates Wii" turned into "reviewers hates PS3"...
If reviewers starts hating 360 aswell, then...we can all be friends!

This is why I try to pick out the mode (number used most often) rather than the average.
