I have been reading about Natal as much as possible.  To be honest it has me very excited for a motion sensing device ( I honestly never thought I would say that).  But there are a few concerns I have about it and maybe even the Eye Toy Wand for the PS3.  So I thought I would discuss them with you guys and see if any of you have thought about this as well.

With the fact that Natal has Facial recognition, video camera and microphone all built in is there a chance someone could use this against you?  For example, the government wants to snoop in on you, would there be some way they could hack into the natal to see everything you are doing and saying?  Maybe like a wiretap except a natal tap?  Decide you need a quickie with your wife in the living room?  And a hacker gets into natal and puts your fat ass out on the net for everyone to see?  That would sooooo suck!!  

I know that this is probably a long shot and there is probably little to no chance a hacker would be able to do this but call me a conspiracy freak, I worry about this stuff more than I should.  Thats why I never leave my video camera hooked up on my computer.

Even with this said, I will chance it and buy a natal if the final products reviews are good and the price isn't sky high.    Your thoughts?

Yeah, don't do anything naughty while your 360 and Natal is on. You shouldn't have trouble knowing if the 360 is on or not considering it makes the noise of a banshee.

No people can't snoop. All hardware requires software. The "snooping" issues are related to weak Windows security in that unauthorized remote access to someone OS. Either through left open ports, trojans or just plain bad weak links. Once unauthorized code is executed that code can do anything. Delete data, send data elsewhere or activate hardware like webcams. This is an OS issue NOT a hardware issue.

Since 360 isn't built with all the accessibility protocols that Windows has this would make the 360 less accisable to such things. A good sign of this possibly happening is this. Can 360 be access remotely, can code be executed without permision(ie web pages with Active X), does the 360 have viruses? if you say yes to any of these then yes webcam snooping can be done, but I bet anything the answer is no. 360 has no Active X, as no remote execution and doesn't have viruses.

This reminds me of the days when people thought because NDS had WiFi that there would be NDS viruses. Missing the point that such acitvity is a software problem not a hardware one.

No, I really doubt you have to worry about being snooped on if you have Natal.

Like I said, I know it would be near impossible but yes I do fear such things. Not a joke :D
