I would not say that the VGC Community consider Natal will fail, it just appears that way due to the large numbers of PS3 supporters and possibly Wii although it does always seem to be PS3 supporters for the most part.

No amount of positive FM3 or Natal press or reviews will prevent them picking out one tiny negative commment, peddling it, exagerating it and ultimately misrepresenting it.

It is unfortunate but every positive Microsoft based thread is matched with an unequal and opposite reaction. That is the science of VGC.

The same could be said about 360 or Wii fanboys who attack PS3 threads.

The difference being there are more PS3 supporters here than there are 360 or wii ones.  Not to mention the hate seems to be mainly focused on Natal and Forza 3.  I don't know if its because it scares a lot of them or what.

I agree with you about Natal, I don't understand the reasons behind the hate either.

However, I disagree with you about Forza 3. The reason why PS3 fan(boy)s are hating on Forza 3 is because Turn 10 are being far too cocky about their game and always talking down GT. I personally don't have anything against this, it's only a form of business, but not many people care to look at it from a business perspective, but rather subjectively, so I can't say I blame them. Plus, I see 360 fanboys saying things like "Forza 3>>>>>>GT5" and the sort when the 2 games haven't been released yet, so that only adds to the flames.

Turn 10 came out saying it is the definitive racing game of this generation.  And, from the review scores so far, it has lived up to that.  Was it cockiness or confidence?  The proof is in the results.  When GT5 comes out nearly 6 months later, it'll have an opportunity to prove Turn 10 right or wrong.

As for the PS3 fan(boy)s, to have the 360 come out with a game that is claiming to be better than one of the Playstation pillars is just something that they can't handle, be it true or not.  I think that has more to do with the FM3 hate than Turn 10's statements.

Doesn't matter, them talking down GT will definitely get to some (if not many) nerves (like I said, I'm ok with this, it's business, but not many people can see it that way). So yes, they are being far too cocky, the results will only show when GT5 releases. It has EVERYTHING to do with Turn 10's statements, not just about Forza 3.

The same could be said about 360 fan(boy)s who are too sensitive about Halo.

Well, actually, I found that to be a brilliant piece of marketing. Talking down turn PD was bound to start wars in the forums, wars where every little detail of the game would be hashed, and rehashed. This would in turn create more awareness for the game...Like butter in turn 10s hands...

Yep, internet hype really sells millions, doesn't it? *cough*Killzone 2*cough*

/sarcasm

But it is a start, though.

The hate for Forza 3 comes from certain PS3 owners that won't be able to play it. It's just jealousy. How can someone like GT5 (even though it's not even out), but hate on Forza 3? Real gamers that like racing games would want to play both, especially now that the Forza reviews have all been very positive so far.

Dislike for Natal is at least a bit more justified, cos nobody really knows what it's going to be like to use it. It might suck. It might be amazing. Hating on it based on early tech demos where some code is tacked on to Burnout Paradise to make it Natal compatible is a bit silly though. Wait until some games come out that have been specifically designed for use with Natal, then we'll know if it's any good or not.

From what i have seen, its just an improved eyetoy clone.
From what i have heard, it could change the way of gaming itself.

Probably something with potential....

well the eye toy was an improved clone of the dream eye for the dreamcast and the gameboy camera for the gameboy, that's just how it goes

Thanx. No offense, but what has this to do with this topic?

2nd try: actual footage looks way less impressive than what everybody says it will be.

I know its just a tec demo. but still the gap between what i have seen and the common praise is.... a little disturbing.

In a nutshell: It catches my interest and i would like SEE it to be awesome, but for now: not so much.

"We’re building up a profile of the emotion in your voice so we know when your voice is strained or excited or calm or passive. That coupled with Milo’s vocabulary of words he understands and what he’s doing on screen creates this illusion – and I’m not pulling any wool over people’s eyes – the illusion that Milo understands and is sentient. And couple that with really cheeky tricks that we’re using. For example, Milo will download dialogue very regularly behind the scenes which updates his database with current events. So, if Britain’s Got Talent is on, he’ll comment on certain acts, so that makes him feel so relevant and real that you start believing it, even if you’re a sceptic."

how about everybody wait and see.... we are all wild guessing here.... unless one of you is in a dev team working on a related project or you got the unprobable chance to try it out... we all know s**t

I think if Microsoft would be an Iranian company, the company would have received a lot more bashing for its wrongdoings. IMO Microsoft has been handled very mildly considering events. I don't think Sony or any other Japanese company would have been able to bypass RROD or antitrust issues like Microsoft was able to.

American car companies usually get more bad press in America than their Korean or Japanese counterparts.  Similarly I've never seen anything to suggest that the American and UK press cut Microsoft a break because they are American.  Yet you keep insisting that their is a US/UK press conspiracy against Sony and in favor of Microsoft.  You've previously never justified why in the past, now you imply its for some patriotic reason.  Meanwhile US press on the Walkman, Trinitron technology, the PS2 etc never got accused of being purposefully slanted like you say coverage is now.  The reality is that you just can't agree with any views on the PS3 that are not your own.

With the antitrust case proceedings under former president Bill Clinton for instance it looked afterwards like Microsoft got a get out of jail for free card under fromer President Bush. Of course Microsoft heavily funded Bush' campaign, which in most democratic countries would be illegal.

It's not just that Microsoft is a US company, the bulk of companies which testified against Microsoft's monopoly abuse were American. But I think if most of them were European there wouldn't even have been investigations in the United States in the first place.

We were not talking about government administrations and how they dealt with Microsoft over the years.  You said the US must really love MS for it to get good press on Natal.  And previously you have said there is a US/UK press conspiracy to bolster MS and put down Sony.  Are you saying that both sets of press act under the orders of former or current U.S. Presidents?  You still have never addressed all the good press given to Sony on many of its past efforts (save Betamax perhaps) and all the current bad press given to multiple Microsoft product lines such as Vista and Zune.  In a nutshell you have not justified your theory at all.  Understand?

Here you are:

I take your two no-named websites milo negative previews and raise you two positive IGN and eurogamer previews

I wasn't saying the fake was a bad fake. Note that at VGChartz my initial repsonse was very positive towards Natal.

But IMO they should have waited until they had something real to show. Now it just looked like they wanted to attract interest towards something which still had very little basis. Not good for real existing innovations which get fewer attention at the show.

A quick question for you, were you bashing Sony for doing the exact same thing with its PS3?  I remember the year the 360 was launched Sony was spewing so much fake shit it wasn't funny.  Trying to get people to just wait for their super computer PS3 most awesome c3ll tech invention of all time.  Sigh....

Some how I don't think you were.

Yes, I have to some extend. For example I thought Sony execs didn't clarify enough or accurately tell what they were showing exactly with the early target game trailers. But IMO by far nothing as severe as the fake Milo presentation, if someone at Sony would have picked a controller and pretended to be playing the CGI target videos, then that would have been on a similar level. Understand?

I might be mistaken but didn't Sony do the same thing with Killzone 2  or some other game?  The fact is both Sony and Microsoft have been known to do some stupid shit.  Just some people seem to forget that and then bash the other company for doing exactly the same thing.

Milo had only been worked on for a few months time.  Do you seriously think they would have been able to design a fully functional AI that did everything MILO did in the same period?  If I'm not mistaken they mentioned this at the start of the demonstration.  Milo wasn't faked it was "tricked".   Example...  Ever cry in a movie?  If you have the movie tricked your emotions into believing what you were seeing was real.  Just like thousands of lines of code tricked some people into believing Milo was "real".

People just need to lay off of Project Natal until its done, and then if it sucks you can gloat then.  Until that time your all just blowing smoke and looking ignorant.

You are mistaken, certainly with regard to Killzone 2, I followed progress on that from the very beginning before even the target trailer.
