Only a Wii

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

given that the slim is ecceding my expectations, I can see Sony at least getting a strong second this holiday season.

I have a Wii and a PC, so no need for other consoles.

@ Kenny

According to for instance Nielsen Media Research is especially popular amongst boys aged 6 -11 and women aged 25 - 34.

With regard to the kids this is not a surprise, according to Nintendo the GameCube was far more dominated by kids. Similar average age does not per se mean the demographics are similar.

For example if you have one console which is especially popular amongst people aging 24-34 with the average age 28. And you have another console which is popular amongst 6-12 year olds as well as 70+ year olds, with the average age 28 but very few people actually being in ther 20s or 30s, you will run into trouble designing a game geared towards the average age group.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

Is there any way we can get Patcher fired? Like can someone call Wedbush Morgan and tell them their "analyst" is actually a fanboy.

Only Wii. I love the system.

Damn, Mike B got owned.

Actually, his response on the 4th page owned the person he was arguing with.  2 very different age distributions on different consoles can equate to a similar average age.

The Wii is huge, and Wii Sports is in retirement homes all over the world, as often gets pointed out around here.  But if the AVERAGE age is 29 or 32... balancing out the older folks caught by the blue ocean strategy must be kids.

It could dominate,if they market it like hell and never seen before...lol,but the Wii will most likely win,it cannot be stopped, but im pretty sure Sony will have a suprise for Microsoft this holiday...

You act like half the people are aged 70+ and half are under 12. I'd say most are 18-33, about 10-20% above that age, the rest under 12.

Youd be surprised how many kids love Playstation.
