Cory Barlog, the director of GoW2, said at the GoW2 launch party that they had already begun development of GoW3, and that it would be 1080p and include rumble support. 

It's funny how he knew that rumble would come back even back then. Of course, it wasn't all that unexpected.  :P 

 Most people assumed Barlog was joking around a bit at the time. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the game ends up being 720p. Of course, for that one offhand remark, God of War 3 will be endlessly hounded as another broken Sony promise.

I don't see how they could possibly make it bad, they already have the formula down. But I seriously want to see some screenshots, because GOW2 was like the best looking game I have ever seen. Still is...I can only imagine what those crazy bastards are cooking up for GOW3.

love the GOW series and now i just got to make enough $ to get a ps3 so i can play it whenever it comes out

apparently the game has been in production a bit before GoWII was released so thats not really "rushed"

I hope they take their time with this. I want this to be super polished, no glitches or drops in frame rate. I have my doubts about it coming in 08 though. Just had GoW 2 this year, GoW PSP next year. Don't want to overload.

The Santa Monica studio which created GoW2 has some incredibly talented people, so if Cory Barlog is steering the ship, which he seems to be doing, GoW3 is going to knock our socks off.

For those who never played GoW1, a fine game in its own right, the sequel was one of those rare games which improved on the original in every way - tone, setting, skill, subtlety, visuals, storyline, voice-acting, you name it.
