Despite Halo 3 selling more....wasn't CoD4 on top as the most played game on XBL for a VERY long time, and only a few times did Halo 3 beat it? Explain that

In the two years that both those games have been out Halo 3 has been number 1 for the majority of it.  Just last week it was number 1.

Nevermind then. I just remember back in 2007 and 2008, Joystiq would always have activity comparisons and CoD4 was on top the most of the time. Guess I was wrong
