Forums - Gaming - Wii or PSP GO?

Not to long ago I made a thread about my interest in being abe to play classic games on the Wii. I went to a friend's and had a great time playing old Turbo Duo games on my buddies Wii. I now have been considering buying a Wii so that I can download some of my favorite classic games. Unfortunately, that may be the only reason that I'd like a Wii for. Anyhow, I have been wanting a psp for some time now. So, should I buy a Wii or the new psp go? I am sure that there are many reasons inwhich to buy either of them. Also, there must be some great reasons not to buy either as well. What are you opinions? Thanks for the help.

Why a Go instead of a 3000?

Look at both systems games then decide

It depends on what you want to use it for... if you want something to play at home then get a Wii.

If you want a portable gaming device get a PSP GO for sure. Especially if you plan on using it for commutes.

well, I own a ps3 and 360 so I feel as though I already have the two home systems that I need/ want. My reasoning is that I enjoy classic Duo games more than any other gen games. So, I guess if I want to be able to play those games I will need a Wii. As far as thew psp is concerned, I have never even used one. Psp 3000, or psp go. I don't know which would be better. The psp go looks great to me, one problem is I like physical media. to bad there are no umd's for the go. I have seen games on the psp I believe I'd like to have. The Wii as a next gen system has nver appealed to me.

The Wii simply has better games.

There's nothing on the PSP that touches Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime Trilogy, or Resident Evil 4 even if all you want to play are core games.

Wii is also great for whenever you have friends or family over ... the PSP .... not so much. And the Virtual Console is great for retro gaming.

The only reason to get a PSP would be if you need a portable gaming device because you spend a lot of time on the road and have a lot of time to burn, but the quality of software is a fair step down from the Wii IMO.

If you're a Nintendo fan, then you already know the answer. If not, keep in mind that you can connect a PSP to your television.........

You can connect PSP to a TV ... but the resolution you're going to get is sub-SDTV ... it's not a real pretty sight on many games.

Easy determine your gaming values.

Do you want to play portable games?
Do you already have a portable system?
Are you missing out on a few worthwhile Wii games?

If you answer yes to the first one get a PSP. If you answer Yes to the second one get a Wii. You may find only retro games on the Wii that you want now, but there many others out there that are Wii games and pretty darn good. Even if the main named lineup doesn't catch your eye there are those that gamers just over look that are still pretty damnd good.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

man if you chose psp, get a real psp not a psp go.

I will say buy a Wii. It has great games, that maybe you haven't considered, is cheaper than a PSPgo, and its great fun to play with friend or family.

If you really want a portable, buy the PSP-3000 but not the go.
