Forums - Microsoft - 360 HDD NOT NECESSARY to enjoy Forza 3

It's really a non-issue. You notice just a few cars greyed out with locks on them (asking if you would like to install the 2nd disc.) Meh. I passed on the install to see what it would be like to have just the first disc of cars and tracks. It's minute at best.

Overall? It's just another way for sad folks to try to keep 360 gamers from enjoying a very good game.

I can't say anymore about the game ATM, but the haters be warned - Arcade owners and other 360 types without hard drives will be able to do some serious racing. Troll all you want about the hee hee - second disk install - but rest assured - the second disc is nice but not necessary to have fun.

My point? THE HARD DRIVE ISN'T NECESSARY to enjoy the depth of Forza 3.

No you're wrong. It's necessary to enjoy the depth, just not the game itself. There is no denying that arcade users still get shafted by not being able to use those extra cars on disc 2.

Have you played it? Let's race right now - PM your gamer tag and I'll see you online.

I purposely - PURPOSELY didn't install the second disk just to see. Guess what? I saw a few - few cars greyed out. And most of them were variations of the same cars on the disc. How many variations do I need to race?

Once again, certain gamers will try to bash this title. Thanks for proving my point.

Depth? Unless you are a very, very diehard fan, you can easily get by off just the first disk. The second disk is the cherry on top. If you must buy an HDD, get one for just $20-$30. Solved.

Good to hear from someone who's actually played the game. That being said, can you give us any other impressions about the game?

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Haha. No can do. I just wanted to clear up that *issue.* If I didn't have the second disk, I wouldn't actually miss it. I haven't gotten very far in the game, but at this stage, I do not need the second disk.

I'll install it when I need to finish the review.

THEY CAN USE THE EXTRA CARS ON DISC 2

Just not all at once, Arcade users can pick and choose components to copy to the onboard memory

Never argue with idiots
They bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience

Does it really matter? Most people will buy a hard drive anyways.

A 20 gig hard drive on eBay Is probably under $25 shipped now.

It's just that simple.

I predict this thread will have 60 post.. 30 of them, by people who dont own a 360, but played one at a "friends" house and claim the 2nd disc is needed, 10 of them will be about GT5, and the other 10 will be by logical people who realize the 2nd disc is just free DLC.

lol...agreed

I will have to install the second disc... It has Dodge Stealth TT on it and I used to own that car.

That really is the only reason why you will have to install disc 2...if one of the cars that are on it used to be in your possesion or if you have a soft spot for some.
