I'm not actually expecting much in the way of sales in the first week, what with no advertising (the campaign is timed for the still-official release date of October 30th) and so many places still thinking thinking that they can't release it until the 30th.

just contacted my local games retailer (eb games) and canada supposedly it wont be available until thursday. we'll see about that though, i'll post up when i have it in my hands.

This game will probably have around a 10% attach rate when the dust settles at the end of the year. I am estimating first week sales at around 250k WW and 680k units WW by the end of the year. I still think I'm being generous as PS3 owners really haven't shown with any game that more than 1 in 10 will buy said game.

Resistance: Fall of Man - 1.73 million
Motorstorm - 1.31 million

Those two games are doing better than a 1/5 attach rate. Madden 08, Need for Speed: Carbon and Call of Duty 3 have almost exactly a 1/10 attach rate.

Fight Night Round 3, Madden 07, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion are pretty damned close the 1/10 but they're not there yet.

The sales for R&C are insanely low, no one thought it would sell this bad, it sold around the same as HS during its first week. The only thing i can imagine that would cause this is the fact that Blockbuster and other places that rent games allow you to take the games for over 1week, it used to be only 3 days.

Plus sites like gamefly appear to be affecting sales alot.
