This thing doesn't entirely suggest no MS, Sony and Nintendo, but rather a "channel" for each console, with the content being "streamed" to the TV.
IE the processing takes place on remote machines.
The Internet's speed will have to increase HUGELY for this to be possible.

If EA really want this why not either A)develop for 1 console only.....oh wait they cant do that then they lose the deals with NHL,NBA,FIFA etc etc. B)make loads of devs reduntant thus increasing profits......oh wait they cant do that either then they cant rush there games and make them full of bugs.
C)Make there own console with all there IP's exclusive......oh wait they cant do that either because noone would buy it.
They got themselves in a real pickle here.

And that's why "The Sims" sells so poorly.
Well if EA has a problem with being multi plat then they should just start going exclusive to one platform. If they went exclusive to M/S/N they could end this console war and all of their games should start performing a lot better. It is kind of rediculous to complain about multi plat when you are one of the people feeding its fire. As a company they need to look at what is best for them and if that is going exclusive good for them. Maybe we would all get lucky and they would only support PS3. Then Take two would follow, and we would have Madden, and GTA exclusive to one console. If that would not end the war, what would?

EA is so evil. It's sad that they own Maxis (Maxis makes a ton of my favorite games)
