Pretty sure this is what I have in my PS3. Have had it for about 1 1/2 years.

This will be the one I'm getting, 5400rpm. £59.99

I now use a 320GB 7200RPM (I think it is Samsung) and it works without any issues.
From what I read the increase in temperature is minimal, but so is the increase in performance.
The only tests I did before/after proved that a 200MB file was about 2sec quicker on the 7200RPM and Oblivion started up about 1.5-2 sec faster, I used a digital stopwatch/wristwatch.
Of course this only proves to me that I do indeed now have a faster HDD.
i just know its adviced to not go with the 7,200 rpm... prob cos of over heating or something? anyway the origonal HDD is 5,400rpm so theres no need for a faster one.
I have run both 5400 and 7200 and there is no noticable differance on noise or heat. There was a you-tube video where someone used a
infared sensor and it showed no difference.

I have a 320GB in my brothers PS3 and the 500GB is in mine, they both work perfectly and are completely silent. I prefer Western Digital over all other brand just because I have always had good luck with them.
