I agree with the above poster
Price both of media and necessary new tech is Blu Rays biggest achilles heel.
Add in a worldwide recession and you can see why Blu Ray is lagging behind in total sales compared to DVD at the same point in its lifecycle.
Give it time and several price cuts and it should pick up
