I really want to know why Florida and a few other states get banned from contests held on sites like NewEgg.com? Is there a specific law that bans it in these states? if so which Florida law so I can yell at my representatives for being morons and not fighting it.

There are anti-gambling laws that many states have. Things considered gambling can be pretty broad, from online poker to fantasy football. For instance, ESPN doesn't allow people in some states to play Fantasy Football where the winners have a chance to win prizes because this could be considered gambling.

If NewEgg's contest consists of chances and prizes, then it may be considered gambling by Florida.

This ^^^. It is also why you usually can't win if you are under 18. Typically all contests must be free to enter to anyone and a phone text or buying an item to enter is restrictive. Which is why you can almost always enter just by mailing a letter rather than doing whatever they requested.
