I have to go with the J-man, Mass Effect blows one's mind. Uncharted is a very close second, and then Gears.

It appears I also have to check out Condemned and Dead Rising. Don't be mad at me, I just got into survival horror this gen!

By the way, AdventWolf, that may be the greatest signature of all time! It just doesn't get anymore nerd-tastic than "White and Nerdy" with ol' Seth Green showing off the stars of Robot Chicken. You. . . are. . . my. . . hero!

Top 10 new, or improved series this gen - Not in order besides Uncharted being the best

1. Uncharted Series - Amazing graphics, good story, good shooting/cover system, great climbing/puzzles, awesome game.

2. Fallout - Yeah I know its not a new IP but its the first Fallout game on a console so I'm gonna call it similar to a new IP. And Fallout 3 was amazing. You could do so much stuff its insane.

3. Gears of War - I don't really like it but I'll give it credit for what it is

4. LittleBigPlanet - Never played it but it looks fun as hell. I will probably get it when its like $20 or $25.

5. Killzone 2 - Again its not a new IP but other then following the same storyline as Killzone it looks like a completely new game. Geurilla completely started over when making Killzone 2 and it paid off. Not necessarily in sales (I bet they expected more then 2 million) but in quality, and people will definately notice when Killzone 3 arrives.

6. Resistance - Sticking with the PS3, resistance is a great alternative to the grittier killzone 2. Its not as hardcore but is still an amazing game with a fairly original storyline. Can't wait for Resistance 3.

7. Call of Duty (Infinity Ward versions) - Again its not a new IP, but Modern Warfare should have been its own series, its so different and so much better then the previously Call of Duty games. Its no wonder the 360 version of Modern Warfare 2 already has 1.5 million pre-orders.

8. Bioshock - Same as LBP, never played it (aside from the demo) but It looks amazing.

9. Dead Rising - Fun as hell game. One of the rare, fun "casual" games on the 360.

10. Rock Band - Any fan of music games should thank Rock Band for arriving on the scene. Guitar Hero was steadily declining in quality till Rock Band arrived and shook up the music game industry.


Honorable mentions - Scribblenauts, dead space, UFC Undisputed, Batman Arkham Asylum, Valkyrie Chronicles

Sorry Nintendo fans. But all the Wii's best games aren't new IP's. I love Mario but that obvioulsy couldn't go on a list of best New/revamped series'.

For carryover IP its Halo. That game has the best online of any game by farr.

for new IP id say either Gears of War or Mass Effect
