What do you think is the best videogame franchise this generation?

The crown goes to GTA for the previous generation without a doubt with 3 awesome games, all of which were game of the year candidates (SA was a winner), critically acclaimed and sold tons of copies. The runner ups were probably MGS and Halo.

What do you think is the best videogame franchise of this generation? Is it Halo? GTA? MGS? Uncharted? Gears of War? Bioshock? Mass Effect? Killzone? Or something else?

Although I love MGS4 and it is by far my favourite game of all time, I'm gonna go with Uncharted. The game came out of nowhere and completely blew everyone away with its fantastic visuals and engaging gameplay. The critics loved it and the first game sold very well (especially since the install base for the PS3 was quite low) while the second game is all set to have a great run and looks like it's one of the best games this gen. Maybe when MGSR comes out my opinion will change but for now, my favourite is Uncharted.

The Uncharted series. New IP, amazing quality, proof that ND is one of the best game developers.

naughty dog, i have been behind them ever since jak and daxter series....they are my favorite developers....they do a great job, and they do it quickly 

Mass Effect.......when it released , the J man couldnt believe the storytelling and the cinematics done in this game. From the paladin/renegade system to the living breathing characters and worlds , mass effect raised the bar in storytelling......a bar which hasnt been met by any other game even to this day.

Dead Rising for me.

And Dead Rising 2's bag of multiplayer tricks will make an already excellent game all the more brilliant.

CGI knows his stuff ^ Condemned: Criminal origins is an AMAZING game.

Condemned has so many stand out moments, and its EASILY the scariest and most psychologically intimidating game this gen.

Dead Rising won it for me due to the sheer variety of imaginative ways that you can kill a zombie, and the fact that if you want to see everything (all cutscenes and outcomes) you have to play it multiple times.
