is this game story driven??? b/c thats the deciding factor for me.

One thing BioWare are known for is the deep stories in their games. So yes.

Nope, they were known for it during the BG2 days, and it's almost a decade since than.

If you don't think KOTOR and Mass Effect have deep stories, I'd like to know what you've been smoking.

Kotor and Mass Effect have shallow stories, and extremely linear. Planescape: Torment is a game with a deeps story, not the shallow crap that Kotor and ME have as stories.

If you actually played great WRPGs, you would agree with me.

I disagree, KOTOR is the pinnacle of WRPG's in every way just like Final Fantasy 6 is the pinnacle of JRPG's in every way.....ofcourse FF13 will be that pinnacle soon, but anyway.

Are you serious?

Man, you really lack experience in both of these genres.

Xenogears' story is, in mine and a lot of other people opinion the best story in a JRPG, and the same with PS:T and WRPG, it's a shame you miss such great games, who's story just blows KotOR and FF6's stories out of the water.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

Here's the deal:
FACT: The best story written for a WRPG is in Planescape: Torment, this isn't an opinion, it's a FACT.
FACT: The best story written for a JRPG is in Xenogears, once again, this isn't an opinion, it's a FACT.

Instead of arguing with me, play these games.
You'll thank me for it.

And the guy who called me a PC gamer: Nope, JRPG is my favorite genre (though a good WRPG is up there as well)

Please, please, please don't. As a student of literature and a lover of storytelling, I am begging you, do not do this thing. You are using words in ways that it is impossible to use them.

But... man... I just can't, I mean, the guy just said that KotOR and FF6 have the best stories of all time :(

I understand that it's a ridiculous notion, but never, ever call a story the best story of all time and then say that this is a fact rather than an opinion. When we talk about these things, they ar understood to be opinions until you do that sort of thing.

There cannot be facts about this. There is no objective measure for the quality of a story.

I mean, I was touched more frankly and more brutally by Mother 3 than any other game I've ever played, but I would not call it the greatest story in its genre, and certainly wouldn't try to present that as a fact.

I've edited my post :P

KoToR has one of the best stories in a RPG. What are you talking about?

Eh, I didn't the story was bad, but it certainly wasn't the strongpoint. I always thought gameplay was the draw of their games.

We can agreed to disagree on this point.

Hold it right there, do not even compare KOTOR and Xenogears. Two different sub genres and both great games. No offense but but keep those games away from each and put Xenogears against another JRPG.

....He's pretty clearly comparing it to Final Fantasy 6.
