While doing some research on release dates I found myself on GameStop.com, looking to find out when the mega-retailer was going to be getting Sony's unique EyeToy game, EyePet. To my surprise, the title, both with and without the camera, has received a fairly signifigant delay in their systems, moving from October of 2009 to April of 2010. Spotty computer system? Possibly, but this isn't the first time Gamestop's computers have predicted a game delay. Hell, it wouldn't be the first time this month that they've predicted a game delay.
Last we checked with Sony, the title was set to make it's release date. In fact, word on the street is that the game has even been shipped to some early reviewers, making the chances that this is, in fact, a mistake, very likely. Still, Gamestop's usually fairly on top of things, and they usually don't delay a title in their computer unless they have a damn good reason to. The release date being as soon as it is isn't really a factor, either, since LittleBigPlanet experienced a delay when it was already in the back room of retailers.
We're going to shoot another email over to Sony representatives to see if we can't get another confirmation of the date, since this was one of the more interesting games coming out this year, and I'm not going to be happy if I don't have a bunnykittypuppy dancing around in my virtual space this month.
