As for LOTR I am a huge fan but I won't be buying the Blu-Ray until the extended versions come in Blu-Ray...(once you've seen the extended you don't want to go back to the theatrical version).

What bothers me about those is the fact they split the movies between 2 discs each.  Really kills the setting swapping that mid movie.  The timing used for it in the third film was terrible moment.

That's why the extended Blu ray will be so great.

No disc switching !!!!

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

I have all the DVD versions and will buy all the Blu-ray versions no matter what.

I had double of the theatrical versions and I have the collector extended versions :P( with the discs in a nice book and the figurines).

I wouldn't say I'm avid, but as a definite lover of film I do enjoy it's picture quality. Right now I'm waiting for more classics properly transferred vs recent blockbusters I have little interest in.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Amen brother!

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

I don't own a single Blu-Ray yet. I have rented a few but to be honest the difference isnt there for me enough that I would pay 50-100% extra for a Blu-Ray over a DVD.

As an aside, I love you for loving 24, it is AWESOME!!!

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

I own 1 blu-ray movie, The Dark Knight.

I'm not a massive supporter of blu-ray, it's nice to have, but the discs are still way too expensive and the benefits don't really outweigh the costs for me. Yes I like watching things in 1080p on a large LCD, but at the same time the added price and loss of content/features (in a fair amount of blu-ray movies compared to their regular DVD brothers) is not worth it.

Gotta pick up 24 season 7. Shame it costs so much on blu.

Ynwa.

haha nice line, I agree completely they can put both the theatrical and extended edition in one package. With blu ray hopefull we wont have to swictch discs during the film.
