I have to say, I'm pretty apalled at the lack of marketing for both Metroid Prime 3 and BWII.  The latter, I feel, has the potential to really flop.  I follow the video game industry pretty closesly, and even I forgot that it was coming out soon...

Yeah the marketing for MP3 or lack there of, was all wrong for the most part. They built it as a casual game which it isn't if they had marketed it like the videos on the Metroid Prime 3 channel on the Wii the game would have sold like ipods.

Ditto.

I actually feel that way about every Nintendo game.

The Wii console itself has been the most hyped thing since Smash Bros. for the n64 IMO.

Nintendo really needs to start getting the message out there. Now that they're targeting people who don't game as a main hobby, they especially need to start reaching those people who won't go out to look for games themselves.

Let's hope the market SSBB the right way cause that has a chance of being multi million seller on the first day.....

there always seems to be a glimps hen nothing--i mean the only hype i have really seen so far has been for smash-with its website

Could be worse...

They could have a really creepy, annoying person as the spokesperson with people telling him, 'Dude, get your own!'.

Actually constant annoying advertising is better then forgetable advertising.  It's the "law of mere exposure."

Nintendo does need to change up it's adds.  At first it was hilarious to picture Nintendo's top execs driving from place to place trying to win people over one at a time... but now you just kinda glaze over it.  I know I tune out before it gets to the gameplay footage at this point.

My main problem with the 'Dude get your own' ads is that it's a complete ripoff of 'Dude get a Dell'. Another thing they totally missed the boat on is the new features. The new PSP is smaller and lighter and has multimedia functions, but NONE of that comes up in the ads. At least not that I remember because the guy was annoying me so much.

Advertising should send a message. The point of Nintendo's ads are clear, it's a fun system that can be played with everyone. The point of the Sony ads? Creepy nerds will accost you because they like it so much.
