It's not like these nations have horrible players. Look at Tim Cahill, Park, Nakamura, Dempsey, Essien, Drogba. If those countries had more of these players imagine how they would be.

You do know that Soccer is actually the more correct term right?
Football is actually a bastardization.
Soccer as a term started in England actually and stands for Assosiation League Football (Also known as Soccer football) to tell it apart from the many other types of football that exist. For example Rugby Football.
Calling the sport Football is like reffering to the United States of America just as America.
People generally understand what your saying... however some might since you are using a broad term for your sport.
While if you use Soccer. It's like using "United States". Everyone knows what your talking about and there is no confusion.
You know. Just some useful knowledge.

I do not think it is more correct at all. 'soccer' came from an abbreviation of 'association'. So by calling it soccer, you are calling it 'association'. Not very clear what sport it is, is it? Most certainly far less clear then 'football'. Aside from this, USA is the only (or very close to) country in which soccer is the official name.

There is no other "assosiation" sport. There are many"football" sports.
Furthermore the term Soccer was created specifically for Assosiation Football.
By an Englishman.
Nor does "what most people call it" hold any relvence to what is actually more correct. One is a more percise term created for one sport... and one is a broad term used for numerous sports.
Ask an Australian about going to a football game... and your likely going to end up watching rugby.
Because Rugby is short for "Rugby Football."

well call it futbol, actually soccer doesn't even exist.
only US people call them that way.
i also refuse to call gringos, americans, it's not like they have exclusivity on the continent.

Park and Dempsey really don't belong on that list as the others are a lot better than them. But yes, if Ivory Coast had 11 Drogbas, I think any team in the world would be scared! But of course they don't.

And Soccer doesn't hold exclusivity to football.
Hence why you know. It's funny how you're using the term incorrectly.
Soccer DOES exist and is the more proper term... for the reason you just stated and why you refuse to call people from the USA "Americans."
To refuse to call people from the US Americans and yet call Soccer Football... you are being a hypocrit.
