That was one boss where magic helped a lot. I don't have any advice otherwise.

Ep 2 is even more zelda like go to the areas with the red dots on the map talk to oswald after each.

I beat all three bosses. I went back to Vestellia and the thing in the cape destroyed the village. That is where I got stuck, because I talked to oswald, but he only says something like "curse them all, etc"

 when l don't know (or just forget) where to go, l open the map and the red dot shows the next destination... but l'm sure you have to go to necropolis in the aldana range (don't know if spelled correctly) BTW l thought l was very strong (str 64 with a lv 22 samurai and every class on lv 20) but l met some demons after necropolis and  l was able to do 1 damage per blow... what a let down...
