well, you cant lock on to them but you can lure them down. Just keep dodging it's fire balls and it will come down to get more intimate.

I'm madly interested in this game, just one more question: does the game world feel alive? For example, is there a day/night cycle in the game, and weather conditions? Do NPC's roam the world or do they all just stand still all the time?
Thanks.

Yes there are both day/night cycles and weather conditions. They also affect battle and enemies too. I wouldn't say it feels a live though, because tons of the areas are prerendered and it just breaks the feel when you can't walk into an arch or a hole because it is prerendered. NPCs are always in the same place. Something that really takes away from the experience is that the same enemies appear in the same places everytime until something in the story/quest changes it. Don't expect Majora's Mask or WRPG level of immersion, but it is still there.
Edit: @Lamberto I added you.
I just watched some YouTube vids and I musy say it looks like a world I would like to explore. I heard this game comes to Europe around Easter, I'll probably get it eventually.

Your better off saving money and buying. I think it is that way until you get a crafter(which I don't have.)
I've noticed that enemies drop specific items, some drop multiple items but they are assigned to drop specific items.
The items in stores are more for show, but droped items can and usually are better.
They have different classes and so on. Plus droped items have slots for gems.
