Via Thelastboss: Square Enix has announced they're holding a party on May 12th and 13th, here's the translated details: Square Enix released, in daily Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun, a publicity page to announce their special event "Square Enix Party 2007" which will take place the 12th and 13th of next May at Makuhari Messe, a few kilometers east of Tokyo, Japan. We also find the logos of all of the shutters of the Final Fantasy series in development, as well as a phrase that's intriguing enough, but leaves us dreaming; "Evolution will never stop, the series continues ... and a new Final Fantasy that no one knows will enter the scene." So, will a new Final Fantasy really be presented on the 20th anniversary of the series? Something to follow very closely. Damn, it's hard to keep track of all the different projects Square Enix is working on lately. Now that they've got the Unreal Engine for their games, I'd guess their new game will be another PS3 title, or will this be one they're giving to Xbox 360? I've got a feeling the next game might not be an RPG at all, but they said it's a Final Fantasy title. Is FF14 going to be unveiled already? Make some predictions and we'll take a look back here once May comes around.

I am seriously tired of Squareenix with their Final Fantasy milking. Its even worse then Nintendos Mario. They are making like 6 FFXIII games it is just fucking unbelievable. I hope that FFXIII goes to Microsoft and later the whole serie leave Playstation so we can have som quality games instead. But yeah god for the Final Fantasy fans with the new game. I have beaten FF3.FF4.FF5.FF6.FF7. last boss in FF8.FF9.FF10 and I had lvl 61 Redmage in FF11, and I have ff12.

I would love a futuristic action based final fantasy MMO. With party's being optional not mandatory. And in a persistant world.

It is going to be the third of the FFXIII trilogy , it will be for ps3 and it will be online . That should certainly make interesting headlines in japan i think .

i'm not sure how FF would get better on the 360, but whatever. I kinda agree that Square has been paying a tad too much attention to the series. Most of the games have been very high quality, but stuff like X-2 and other crappy spinoffs taint the series and more importantly suck up too much time at Square. Does anyone remember the days of the PS1? There were so many different high quality Square RPGs. Now it's all about FF: silly subtitle. The only non-FF major RPG to come out from Square after the PS1 days was Dragon Quest VIII, and really that's an Enix title.

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

I did not mean that FF serie would get better on 360. I was thinking that other good RPG could come to PS3 instead. Fresh new RPG like Knightstory. I miss the good old RPGs on PS1 :/ but ps2 got some good titles.
