Forums - Nintendo - The vgchartz ranking game--Madworld!

9 for me....despite it's issues.  It's a great game to have on your shelf, and fun to pull out once in a while to WOW people or just for a quick run through.  Sometimes games don't have to be 40+ hours long.  Some of us play in short spurts and don't sit down to play for 7 hours at a time, and games like this are just the ticket.  The commentators alone are worth the price of admission.

Only played it for an hour so far, but from what I have heard that's almost half of the game. I would give it a 5.3 based on what I have played.

The art style is interesting and the controls work, but that's about it. The game seems to force you (or better said it encourages you) to make use of stuff that slows down the pace of the game. You get more points for using tires and signs instead of the chainsaw. The music is awful and the motorcycle part is lame.

Another big issue is the game aiming for being cool way too hard, it seems to target young boys. I am too old for this stuff. Well, actually such games never appealed to me. I didn't care for Mortal Kombat or any Rockstar game.

In summary, MadWorld is pretty lame and is nowhere close to Viewtiful Joe in terms of quality.

How is giving you more points slowing you down?  Oh no, the game says I have to add variety to my kills for some reason...

Maybe because your on a GAMESHOW ABOUT KILLING.  The whole point is to be a be ridiculous and over top because thats what it is.  A game show.  Notice all the bosses werent like the enemys you fought before them and had higher rankings (aka ratings and viewers, oh course you know this if you played through the game.)  Its discussed when Jack gets a sponsor, like...ten minutes into the game.

Yet most people can't seem to understand this.  On a gameshow about killing would you watch just a guy use a chainsaw?  No you be on this forum complaining about it....

""What the shit?  I dont want to watch Jack, he just uses a chainsaw all the time, sick of these ""non deathmatch contenders"" taking the place of ""hardcore deathmatch contenders"".  Stupid chainsaw scrubs.  I mean god look at where there fighting, theres a lot of instant death hazards and weapons but he just wants to use the chainsaw?  Jesus man get more variety, this is like when UFC started getting grapplers then it ruined MMA forever because people can apparently win fights with submissions...""

The game rewards you with more points which gets you faster to the insanely good and crazy bossfights.  So the game asks you to not relie on the instant kill weapon and entertain the audiance.

Why cant anyone else understand this?  Did we all suddenly agree to ignore what this game was hyping to do since day one?  Nintendo were right the hardcore are never satisfied.

It's slowing me down, because I have to go out of my way to pick up those things and whenever Jack carries something or someone, he is slow and the additional points you get rarely offset the additional time you need to kill someone. I am faster by just using the chainsaw most of the time due to quickly respawning enemies, the blood bath challenge opens soon enough anyway. Then I do the same thing over and over in this challenge for a minute or two and probably have racked up enough points to enter the next challenge which nets me enough points to unlock the boss fight.

I don't care for those virtual viewers of Death Watch. The game is supposed to entertain me. Which it fails at, because it gets boring fast.

Its called running.  I know, shocking.  Jack can run.

I like to use running attacks because they stun enemys which allow me to easily impale or shove things on top since they take a long time to recover (or in the poles case none.)  Doing so allowed me to unlock the bosses without the blood bath challenges since the game gives you more powerful weapons to work with before the blood challenges also. (still played them for the hell of it.)

Dont blame the game because you'd rather not explore whats on offer and just think the first hour sums up the game.  Hell lets try this with any other game because I'm sure most people will agree with me if I said say Uncharted 2 is rubbish because the first hour is boring.  *everyone starts mashing ban button.*

You cant judge something if your not willing to fully experience it.  The Hardcore are never satisfied.
