The price drop of the PS3 has generated excitement and a buzz about the PS3 here.  However, I recall it wasn't just an expected price drop alone that was supposed to excite.  I recall distinctly reading how the PS3 was going to own 2009 with its list of releases.  Well, I am curious.  Do people here believe the PS3 owns as far as releases and exclusives go? If not, is it that things got pushed back to 2010 that has changed that?  As I see it, the big release this holiday season is Uncharted 2.  I am a fan of the original, but I didn't expect that this title would end up being the top holiday release.

Killzone 2, Infamous, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2 get the job done imo.

At the first of the year I had expected God of War 3 to be the big holiday seller, but Uncharted 2 deserves it now.

And yes, the PS3's lineup this year is still the best IMO.

P.S.- FFXIII will be the biggest hit in Japan this holiday.

Yeah, in sheer number in exclusives, this year, it wins easily, even in quality imo.

If we are to go by metacritic anyway

for me NDS wins in number of hours & games to play (thats cus I had a 3 year backlog to clear for it when Ig ot in in the summer)

A lot of people were foolishly expecting/hoping God of War 3, Final Fantasy XIII, as well as Gran Turismo 5 in 2009... none of which happened. I'm surprised that Heavy Rain didn't make the cut either.

With that said, PS3 probably had just as good a year in 2009 as the 360. The 360 got Halo Wars, Halo: ODST, and Forza 3, while the PS3 got inFamous, Ratchet, Killzone 2, and Uncharted 2. Personally, I vastly prefer the PS3's list of hard-hitting 2009 exclusives, but both lists are very strong, with one of them getting some ridiculous sales.


With that said, I guess the PS3 is going to have a much stronger 2010. Whatever the 360 has (Gears 3? Alan Wake?), it probably won't stand a chance against Heavy Rain, GT5, FFXIII, GoW3, and Insomniac's inevitable 2010 release.

In my opinion and in Metacritics opinion.

PS3 wins 2009 easily for me. Although I would really like to play Shadow Complex.

PS3 will sweep the GOTY awards just like it did last year.

Just play Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, or Zero Mission instead. They're all better games anyway. ;)
