With Uncharted 2 coming out and looking amazing I recently bought Uncharted so that I could catch up on the story.  I just popped the game in last night and about 10 seconds into the second scene (search for el dorado) the game froze up.  I restarted my ps3, try to load my save file and the game froze immediatly (as in while loading).  Then I deleted my game data and restarted my game and again froze about 10 seconds into the second scene.  rinse and repeat two more times with the same result...

I'm quite frustrated about this but I remember hearing that the freezes are releated to firmware 3.0.  Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to minimize the game freezing?  Is it possible to uninstall 3.0 for a while so that I can play my game?

Edit: horray for optional firmware updates that I wasn't aware of!  I'm a happy clam again.

Sorry to hear that. Uncharted is an amazing game. I played/finished it prior to the new update. Hopefully they get it squared away so that you can fully experience an awesome title.

there is another update you can get. its 3.01 its optional so its not an automatic pop up. it fixes the freezes

Hmmm i thought i heard Sony released another small firmware update to fix that no? Check if there's a newer update, if not sorry for ya =(

Yeah, I updated to 3.01 and then tested Uncharted and it worked fine up to chapt 6 (haven't gone beyond yet with the new update) so just update your firmware again.

Better than that, there's an optional firmware update (3.01) to fix problems with Uncharted.
I didn't install it myself because I was one of those users for which there were no issues (I even played all the game on crushing to grab my platinum while testing).
