I went back to play Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for the achievements. Had to win 100 ranked matches online for last one. Now I have 100%, I can put the game to rest :)

They are addicting like COD.

4. They completely ruin the multiplayer experience when applicable.

Achievements are awesome! in singleplayer... I love to go through a game and complete everything, I always try to get 100% in every game I play (even before achievements).

However once online comes in, you have those people who are obsessive over achievements to the point of being ridiculous. I can't tell you how many games of Halo 3 or Gears I've played where the teams are negotiating "achievment" trading. You will have people run to a certain place to get the same gun every game and camp somewhere to get their kills. It really sucks for team games when one person really wants an achievement and sacrifices his team to do it.

If a game does have online achievements, they should NEVER have something like kill x_ amount of people with a single shot or use this weapon x times. Keep it simple and say win 5 matches in a row, win 100 matches, come in 1st place, stuff that won't hurt the experience.

Now we can all show the world how good , bad or average we are at games.

And it brings people together in their quest to raise that gamerscore. (multiplayer, boosting, both aiming for the same co-op achievement ect)

Indeed, I can't seem to 'stop' achievement hunting, ever!

I love achievements, my overall gamerscore completion is above 86% now!

Erikers will not be best pleased, on true achievements your completion ratio is 89%, his is 87% 

Why did i buy garbage like Call of Juarez and play silly free games like wiki: fable of souls and Hexen when i first got my 360? mines only 70% now

That's damn impressive for such a high gamerscore though! You need to rent them back from Blockbuster

Yeah, i can't wait to play Call of Juarez, Rumble Roses XX, Fifa 07 and The Darkness all over again lol.

Though been the sucker that i am for achievements i probably will visit blockbuster at some stage
