Forums - Gaming - Yahoo: Biggest video games rip offs

I agree with most of what they say here, and I'm pleased that they have very little to no bias showing through.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

I agree with MS points and the used game trade in! agh

Long Live SHIO!

360 hardrive should be on the list. Otherwise I agree.

I really love the points system? You can find them very cheap online. every 800 points game would be like 10€ otherwise. with a little research online, I only pay 7€. So I save 30% on every purchase on Xbox Live. This is not a rip off, some things you could buy on Xbox Live are rip offs though... Come on, themes should be free.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Oh I definitely agree with microtransactions. Definitely a complete rip-off and furthers developer laziness... except this time we pay them to be lazy haha.

All good points except the Xlive points thing. Deceiving maybe, but not sure if it's a ripoff. The points still work out to a certain amount of dollar value which is the same it works on Wii and PS3. It would have to be the prices are a ripoff for that to work. Of course some are quite the ripoff but I think that's universal haha.

The reason I agree with its placement on the list is because of how Microsoft sells the points in the store itself. Games are sold in point values that are multiples of 400. Points are sole in multiples of 500. Yeah you can go out and work around it, but you can work around a few things on the list.

Where's ODST?

But ODST has an unpredicted added value besides the entertainment you get from playing it: you can play with it even without a console, inventing meanings for the acronym.

Edit: I agree with the list and also with people saying XB360 HDD should be on it. I just don't agree about Geek Squad charging $130 to install PS3, it's not a rip-off, but a righteous and very darwinian victory of the brain on less evolved life forms.
