Hey guys and gals! I just got a PS2 slimline (once again) and I'm looking for the ABSOLUTE BEST GAMES. I know it would be impossible to try to play every game out there for the PS2, so that's why I'm here asking for your opinions. This is the only system I own right now, so I'm not only looking for GOOD games, but also for games that are not gonna take me 4 hours to beat, if you know what I mean. Your best suggestions are highly appreciated..............THANKS!!

@Bullet100000: Ive never played ANY of the Final Fantasy games. Would you still recommend Final Fantasy X, even though I have never played any of the other games? I would like to try getting into that series. Ive heard nothing but good things about it.

@indodude: The Jak and Daxter games are platforming games, aren't they? I don't think I have ever played those either.....WOW....

To me FFX & MGS4 are my favorite games of all time FFX has an amazing story,  great graphics, the gameplay is amazing and its the first FF where the characters actually talk so you wont be reading hours & hours of text.  Very easy game to get in to battle system easier than all other FF games a true masterpiece!!!

my goodness. never played ANY ff? it's my favorite series. They don't follow one another so you could start at X. I'd suggest VII and work your way up.

San andreas, god of war 2, Metal gear solid 3 subsistence, Shadow of the colossus, and FFX are the top five listed by IGN (in order).

@Orca_Azure: I would start at FF 7, but I'm not looking to empty my wallet on a game right now, so to speak. Gamestores in my area charge anywhere from $40 - $100 just for a GREATEST HITS version of that game.
