Forums - Nintendo - Ubisoft's upcoming Wii games deserve more attention

So here I am to give it to 'em.

First up, the least sequelish sequel I have ever seen, Red Steel 2. It's shaping up to be the most intense action game ever viewed from a first-person perspective. Striking, blocking, charge-up attacks, finishing moves, 360 attacks, leap attacks, bullet-parrying... it's got all that and a sawed-off shotgun. Here's footage of one of the game's early boss fights:

Second, Rabbids Go Home takes the titular evil alien bunny rabbits out of their minigame compiliations and into an equally absurd action/adventure which is sure to appeal to collect-o-philes. These latest videos reveal some use of the pointer and some tricky platforming:

Support? Ubisoft?

Talk to me when they discontinue the Imagine series.

Pixel Art can be fun.

How does the Imagine series hurt these games? Are they bundled together and are you forced to play through them before you can play them?

There's a market for the Imagine series, and it's obviously a market that doesn't mind that the games are terrible. Why be mad at Ubisoft? They're being a smart company.

I'll wait for reviews on Red Steel 2.

Something about Rabbids Go Home's design just feels... off. It's hard for me to really get hyped about it for that reason.

I'll definitely be looking at Red Steel 2, but with early 2010 as crowded as it is (even for a Wii & DS only owner like myself), it could be hard. Sadly, it will probably fall down to when exactly Ubi decides to release it in comparison with Nintendo and Capcom's plans for that general time-frame, to decide if i get it or not.

But as for it being the "least sequelish," it is strange that they're still calling it Red Steel at all. Unless they hope to piggyback a bit on the original's million-seller status.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

For whiny hardcores, games like the Imagine and Petz series are magically a minus from core games.

Of course they didn't notice them on the PS2, but systems this were supposed to get rid of them... somehow.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Ubi is surely milking the Rabbids franchise.

RS2 is a first day buy, no matter the reviews.

.

they look good to average games, nothing new or awesome to warrant more hype.

Heck yeah, Red Steel 2 is one of my most anticipated games right now! :D Can't wait.
