And to tack on some more stats, ODST covers its development cost in one day, and it’s going to be interesting to see the impact on EDD this quarter. All one can say about the Halo franchise is WOW…buying Bungie is one of the smartest and most profitable decisions M$ has ever made. 2.2 million copies of Halo ODST were sold, and you’ve really gotta wonder what Halo Reach is going to do…maybe 4 million+ in week one. The question is, whether Halo Reach will be a 2010 or 2011 release, and does M$ have another Halo product in-between, maybe a major DLC for Halo Wars. I wouldn’t mind seeing a RPG in Haloverse, to follow-on for Mass Effect 2 , if that games series doesn’t stay a Xbox exclusive.

It is VERY impressive. If the game was just "Halo" and not an amazing game it wouldn't have done this well. People forget that there's actually a reason why Xbox owners love the series, and it isn't from a lack of options. The number of unique games is absolutely mind boggling.

Simply amazing (especially the amount of games played). Halo 3 deserves it for being such a great game, and Bungie for being such a great developer.

Now, if only those recruits would actually try playing something other than Social Slayer, I could kick some serious butt.

the over 1 Bill games played is truly something, i certainly wouldn't have been able to guess that, but around 14.37m players rounding off or not is very possible for a halo game with an install base of over 32m.

now if you were to say over 28m for a total install of 32m that would be something else.

im not saying its not a good thing, just saying its expected, it gets credit for that without a doubt, but not my praise because its quite possible.

Now if a game like Haze or whatever got around to 3m shit game and all that would be impressive. just saying, theres a dif between expecting something so bluntly obvious VS something you know (or dont know in this case.) is coming. which is why that over 1b plays seems fairly shocking, a Bill is a large number no matter what its involed in.

You could post some other stats, like campaign kill counts and such. Those will really blow minds.
