There is no balance to it at all, unlike the 'negative' fanboys it can be hard to spot the difference of someone who really likes a game and a fanboy just scoring it 10, the only way to get a fair vote and overall to to just allow every vote.

very true.

I guess maybe except votes coming from users with single digit posts (and even this is debatable, i mean, we all start from somewhere), all votes should count.

MGS4 isn't "two hours long", since playing it in two hours means you just did a speed-run.

For example, someone finished LoZ:LttP in a little over a hour and a half.
Is that an one-and-a-half hours game?

This.

Hell, you can even finish Morrowind in 7.30 minutes, the game I played for a few hundred hours..

You are comparing two completely different game types, one where you have multiple optional things, can go anywhere and do whatever you like and can have multiple choices of who and how you play.

The other is a strictly linear optionless game.

It's not, in MGS you can go back to the previous points, for example, did you help the south american rebels to capture the first outpost? Did you free the captives rebels in one of the last outpost without them being killed?

It's not necassary in the main story but you still can do it. What you did was running through the game and get to the next cutscene as fast as possible, this is a speedrun.

That takes about 3 minutes to do.

Capture the outpost? I don't think so. Plus those were just examples.

What's the point of this discussion ?

Every MGS game can be beat in less that 2 hours, hell, most games out there can be beat in less than two hours if you know what you are doing.
For example i can beat The End in MGS3 in about two minutes normal kill and under 5 minutes stamina kill (i can kill Crying Wolf in under 4 minutes stamina kill as well). That doesn't mean that the average player will do it too. Quite the contrary, as it is known as one of the longest battles in gaming...unless you know what you are doing...

MGS(4) is just as a "2 hours game" as Super Mario 64 is a "15 minutes game" (you can beat it in 15 minutes you know...).

There should be a disclaimer in contests like these that says if you vote for this lower than I want you to, your vote won't be counted.

I just don't allow blatant fanboys to vote.  If you say 5/10 for a great game, i will allow it as long as you give good reason as to why you think that and your not a hater of the system that its on (or another words a fanboy)

The only people that didn't get counted were the one's that didn't abide by the rules.

@ the bolded, thing is though, you don't allow the 'negative' votes from fanboys but you are allowing the positive votes from fanboys.  I don't see how any game won't score very high in all these things since you are discounting any low voter fanboys but the fanboys voting 10 get to keep there votes counting.

There is no balance to it at all, unlike the 'negative' fanboys it can be hard to spot the difference of someone who really likes a game and a fanboy just scoring it 10, the only way to get a fair vote and overall to to just allow every vote.

Huh well I honestly never though of it that way.   Still if someone was to post a really really low score (like 3) I most likely wouldn't count it unless they gave damn good reasoning as to why it deserves such a low score.

I'll edit the rules a bit more.

Very well put.  Now here is where the arguments should end.

Doesn't matter, in order to finish the game in two hours you need to know PERFECTLY what to do and when, and not to do a SINGLE mistake.

Bioshock is considered a 15-20 hours game is it not?

WRONG!

http://speeddemosarchive.com/BioShock.html

Kingdom Hearts 2 is considered a 30 hours+ game right?

WRONG!

http://speeddemosarchive.com/KingdomHearts2.html

Do you understand it now? Or do I need to explain further? The Length of a game isn't based on how fast you can finish it if you know exactly what to do in every single point, since in order to be this knowledgable you need to finish the game at least three times.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

^^ Enough of the arguments ok??
