Forums - Sales - Can the Console War get closure?

1st, 2nd, and .......3rd.  In the end, that is all that matters.  The rest are just excuses, and opinions.

I have all 3 consoles so......regardless......my console wins....

Actually, it's more like:

1st...................... 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And BTW, companies also fight for marketshare and absolute sales, because those are indicators of what they can do to make money... All 3 companies show to the people this numbers, and when they're winning they even do the comparison, like Nintendo this gen.

Don't act like the companies don't throw flame to the console war, all the commercials, the slogans, the keynote speeches at E3, the magazines, i remember ones from the 1st major console war, Nintendo showed the SNES capabilities against the Genesis ones, Sega showed a TV ad showing speed in both consoles, and that's without mentioning the infamous "Genesis does what Nintendon't"... That has not stopped, and this gen is no exception, companies know they need the fight because that makes them relevant...

it's not over untill it's over...this is just how wars are, even if one looks at current wars with either Iraq or Afghanistan, yeah the American and coalition forces where winning, hell some even thought they won...but the wars continued, and now the people who thought they were wining are now changing their tune as they see them selves on the lossing end....this could also apply to the console wars, just remember that this particular console war is very very different to any past console wars, which in effect makes it impossible to look at history in order to predict how this console war will end.

I've said it once and I'll saying it again, this console wars has surprised us, and it'll surprise us once again before she ends, it seems to be the nature of this particular console wars.

God I love this

It'll never happen. Humans have 2 basic desires: Sex and War.

console wars are never over... can't you heal all the cries of DreamCast , Genesis, N64 all arround you?

proof is the stirs that come up when top 10 console rankings show up.

The dreamcast saga has given many the impression that there can be a 'winner' and a 'loser'. Things have changed though and the big three players will not go down as easily even if one of their consoles turns out to be a complete fiasco, because (largely for Microsoft and Sony) of the support they have from other sections of their corporation.

At most, this generation could weaken the players, to the extent that they then have less to pump in their next installment. Right now, the big three do not seem to be close to be pulling out.

Yeah the wii already won.

Neoraf everything in your post was great. When you said "Microsoft Won", the whole thing went epic fail route.

OP - This generation can't get any more closure than it already has:

1 - Wii.
2 - 360.
3 - PS3.

Take a hard look at that list. It isn't going to change.

All PS3 owners knew that it was a better console in the end and Microsoft was just pushing a crap system with 3 billion dollars of marketing, but the difference between XBox users and PS3 users is, PS3 owners don't give a crap what other people think and generally stay out of the forums. Touting your system as better is someting teenagers do along with loud car stereo systems. We're watching BluRays on our $10,000 home theatres while you guys are playing Shooter games which belong on a PC and not a console in the first place. PS3 isn't for everyone, just like driving a Mercedes, and that's just fine by us.

lol the ps3 "new comers" are just amazing....
