Forums - Microsoft - Analyst Shauger: Microsoft loses money on every Xbox 360 sold

Duplicated "360 is doomed" thread.

I'd really like to know how he quantifies that Microsoft loses money on every console sold.

He makes no attempt to justify his claim. Why? We knew in 2006 that the 20GB Pro was being sold at or near a profit at $300. How could it not make money at this point?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Oh noez, Microsoft is dooooommmmed

Man, this site is so much better than Gamespot. Every time I mentioned the fact that MS loses money on the consoles they sell, people would always give me a thumbs down. I was simply stating a fact.

You dug up a 3 month old thread to quote an article about an analyst's forecast (not even one based on proven facts) in order to try to justify a claim of yours?

Seriously stop wasting everyone's time (including your own for taking the time to dig up the article in the first place).

^ sad panda?

I thought they were allready breaking even, and I just read sony isnt either, oh well. As long as they come back next gen I will be happy. I still prefer the 360 to come second this gen, but hey, the rate the ps3 is going its bound to over take. Will see what happens after christmas :) I do hope MS do something, this years christmas performance is a little embarasing

The price of the 20GB SKU didn't drop to $299 until July 2008 when it was replaced by the 60GB SKU.

Not sure how anyone could have assumed that the 20GB SKU was being sold at cost or profitable at $300 back in 2006 below the actual retail price of $399.

But notice there are no details...lol.
