According to Jim, a relatively knowledgeable mod on gaf, voice chat is coming soon, and the reason for its delay had nothing to do with EA. The actual reason was far less nefarious, apparently.

I don't usually trust VG247, but they seem close to the mark with this one, based on other signs.

Oh yeah, without a doubt.
When I had XBL gold I used it constantly. It's an amazing feature.

It'd definitely make PSN much more attractive. It could use a few other minor features here n there, but they're finally getting down to adding the basics.

I still remember the day I refunded my 360 for a PS3 and thinking about how much of a downgrade it felt. Having to use the phone to get an online match started with friends feels kinda awkward =l
