Forums - General - STAR WARS is the BEST Movie Series Ever! -- Reasons HERE

I'm having a Star Wars Nostalgia moment.

Star wars has achieved:

- Top selling movie franchise with 6 blockbusters.

- Countelss spin offs in games.

- Countless toys, T-shirts & so on.

- The BIGGEST Plot Twist in the history of cinema (I am your mother, luke).

- The 2nd BIGGEST Plot Twist in the history of cinema (Luke & Leia are brother & sister).

- BEGAN the Special FX movement (With SW Episode 4).

- Chaged the meaning of movie soundtracks with Star Wars.....one of the first sci-fi movies to have an Epic orchestrated sound track (with violins n stuff).

- Spawned 3 prequels which were back to back mega blockbusters.

- Brought 2 acting gems into the worl (Ewan Mcgregor & Natalie Portman).

- Made one of the most loved old people ever.....Master Yoda.

- Re-DEFINED the term epic.

Pretty much says it all.

original trilogy = yes, one of the best for sure
new trilogy = hell no

I'm still amazed by the entire saga. At the time, it amazed me how Lucas was able to make a movie in 1977. Update the special effects, and release the prequels with cutting edge special effects, 20+ years, and make it work. I watch the whole series, one after another, about once every couple of months. Amazingly, I enjoy it every time......even Episode I (I hated this movie when it came out!)!

@d21lewis

DITTO DUDE!!

I watch the whole saga every 2 - 3 months too, just to RELIVE the legend!!!!!

__________

@scifiboy

EPISODE 3 REDEEMED the Prequels imo

It was so awesome in so many way, it had music from all the star wars movies gelled together in the perfect mix, Hayden's acting didn't suck as much!

The fights were awesome

YODA VS EMPEROR was amazing, especially when The emperor was throwing the whole SENATE room on yoda......that scene had a "hidden message" as it showed the EMPEROR destroying democracy & freedom by basically ripping apart the senate to try to defeat the leader of peace & justice, master Yoda!

I loved Episode 3

wow, failure, the new films were awful, the acting by the guy who played anakin was woeful at best, the plot was also a mess, original trilogy was soo much better, the new one just felt like a slap in the face.

I don't consider myself much of a movie nerd anymore, but I just can't let this slide!

Ewan McGregor's big breakout movie was Trainspotting, Natalie Portman's was The Professional.

Star Wars is so epic that my professor for one of my engineering classes assigned it as homework. Yes, that's right, I got to watch ANH for homework.

... Okay, so we didn't get a grade for it. But still!

i love them all but episode 2 was very meh

no but they were their debut films I think, not breakout movies but the movies that got them the spotlight. As Star Wars is MASSIVE, they got loads of exposure from it!

@scifiboy

Why?

The Star Wars Prequels are far better than 90% of the films churned out of movies today........I don't see whats so bad about them except for the acting.

Episode 1 was my first Star Wars so I can't ever hate tha film, Episode 2 was good for the last 10 min alone

Episode 3 according to critics as well redeemed star wars.

All this slagging of the prequels is getting quite old now.

@insomniac

COOL!

Our teachers aren't like that.

We got to see E.T in Religious Education though!
