Japan probably won't care. Wii Fit was about the same price, and Japan ate that up.

But Wii Fit came with a peripheral.

FF13 cost was over 40 $ million.

my instincts say to agree to this, but my morality reminds me that this game will probably break 10m

All games in Japan brand new is $80+...

Dragon Quest 9 [DS] was released at $55 brand new...

If this is the case, then it's not that bad, but still...$90 bucks, it better be every bit as awesome as they hope.

This isn't a surprise. MGS4 was well over $100 in Japan.

This is how the Japanese market is. You pay $80 for two episodes of anime on BluRay. That's life in Japan.

A games development cost doesn't matter to the avg consumer.  They just care about their wallet.  If a game costs $90 (or the equivilant), some people are going to think twice about buying it, unless they REALLY want it.  This is another reason handheld games are doing 5-10x more business in Japan.

Or they won't think twice, because all big Final Fantasy titles have costed this much or more. I believe FFVI was over 10,000 yen.

Highly doubt it.

But you never know. A fan might also release a sub somehow..

They already said no.

Yep. DVDs are like $50-60 for just 2 episodes.

How could FFVI have been that much?  It was over 12 years ago.
