Forums - Nintendo - As expected, TMNT and Spyborgs sucks...

I hate when someone sees a 7 plus score they think these games tend to suck , one of the greatest game for me this gen has been No more Heroes and it scored below 8 at ign, yes maybe these games have some flaws but in the end its the fun factor that counts and not the score.

theres a reason the game is on the wii, they would need to make it a AAA game in order to sell in the HD consoles.

I agree. Hence the reason why so many HD games DO NOT SELL ENOUGH to be profitable. Great argument regarding more dev. support to those systems gansito.

We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

i think its because "hardcore" gaming is going downhill.look at what was hardcore a gen or two back and compare it to what is seen as hardcore now. the so called hardcore keep trying to hold themselves to higher and higher standards. like spoiled children they get a taste of what is a really good game to them and want all games to conform to what they want. i love about all games. in my experience, the moment people start taking them to seriously is when things go south.

and i always though that games are rated 1-10 and not 7-10, guess i was wrong.

those revirewers spend most of thier time playing PS3 & 360 HD games then they come to a wii game and at reviewing it.

and 7 isn't bad compared to other Wii games.

SB sounds great actually. So repetitive enemies and a mix of kid/adult friendly game styles is the problem? How come its never a problem on 9/10 games on non Wii consoles? Because Casamasa hates Wii now.

edit> and he is almost certainly comparring this to Madworld.

As in it's not all bloody and doesn't have an art style that they only like for pretentious reasons (it's like a graphic novel!)?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Those reviews both read pretty positive to me. The gripes seem minor, and the scores aren't bad.

As for publishers griping about not selling, I think it's a way overblown internet concept. Really, how often do publishers have to come out and say they are happy with their Wii sales to get this across to people. Games like No More Heroes having sequels happen aren't happening because games aren't selling. And there is a ton of 3rd party game support that has started to appear this year.

They're not masterpieces, but how many games are anyway?

The problem with most reviewers, is the so-called "target audience"... when a Wii game is made for a younger audience, they just don't get it, and review it with their own expectations of what "all games" should be, PS360 games with uber-graphics, with the control method they're used to, and in the genres they like most, and only...

Plus, when a game is too difficult, it gets bad reviews for it, and when it's too easy, same thing... i've seen many Wii reviews where you could easily guess the reviewer had poor skills, and didn't even finish the game: and of course, he'll blame the wiimote, but never himself...

Plus, most Wii games don't deserve higher scores anyway: some efforts are made, but most devs don't want to spend extra-dollars on some extra-polish and features, as they're never sure they will get their money back... some games become minor hits, some games become minor flops, but they'll never know before the release, and are too risk averse...

Of course, last gen, by the time PS2 had sold 50-60 millions, all efforts were made to optimise any game for it, and the other consoles were left in the dust... and risk was a normal part of the business, as most budgets were affordable anyway... but with Wii, strangely, the same logic isn't valid anymore...

Maybe because most of the gaming "journalists" and "analysts" have told the industry for four years now, that Wii was...

First, a guaranteed future flop (not worth any investment). Second, a "casual success" that won't last anyway (not worth any investment). Third, a too-limited console already outdated that pleases only the "non-gamers" (not worth any investment). Such a propaganda has strong effects when all this sh** is brought on the table in most interviews and reviews...

There's just so many things wrong this gen... and of course, thousands and thousands of poorly titled threads all over the net don't help... this is just another one, and another day on VGC...
