seems its the same problem gamecube had. there are "hardcore" games that could sell well, but they get little advertisement or exposure. it also seems that if a number isnt tacked onto a title it sells less on principle.

The aggregate on Spyborgs (from Gamerankings) is 61.80. The IGN 7.5 is the highest review it has received (n=5). I was interested in this game in its first incarnation ... and lost interest when it when all dark and techno.
The aggregate for TMNT Smash Up is 71.00. The IGN review in in the middle (n=3). I never really followed the turtles (too old, I almost remember The Turtles). So this game was not on my buy list at any time.

By this reckoning with scoring I failed all but one of my high school subjects and should never have gotten into Uni.
What does tha make a game that gets an 8 or 9? Average?
how do we know if a game does well. especially a less mainstream game like spyborgs. we could compare it to other games in its genre or scoring but thats all i can think of.

dont let the schooluminate here that or you will be destroyed.
Please. Games that gets a 7 does not suck. I think you suck for making a thread like this, though.
I'm really looking forward to getting Spyborgs. I've been looking for a basic brawler to play with my girlfriend ever since we finished Justice Leage on Xbox (and we both loved every second of it)
So if game reviews are saying that it's a great looking and solid playing game that suffers from just being a straight up brawler... Well then the negative that's pulling down reviews is exactly the positive I'm looking for. So if we invert the negative response then I think reviews are at about... oh I'd say 89%!
Perfect!
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!
Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Nice, that one got a genuine chuckle out of me :D
OT: So have we officialy hit the 7-10 rating system now? No? Then 7 is in no way a bad score, its average to good, which is better than i thought they would be to be totally honest.
Still, the whole roster thing for Turtles has turned me right off of it...too bad, I loves me some TMNT.

Not surprising
Well 199 Wii confirmed makes any of this irrelivent.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
theres a reason the game is on the wii, they would need to make it a AAA game in order to sell in the HD consoles.
