A retail source close to NowGamer has confirmed that the rumoured SKU will be available in the UK from next week

Following not-particularly-hot on the heels of the new PS3 Slim, the 250GB console arrives amid news of Microsoft's new 'Super Elite' Xbox 360 bundles, set to appear in conjunction with Forza 3 next month.

It seems the battle for the heavyweight games machines has begun, although you'd need to download quite a few PSN/XBL games to fill up 250GB. Is the increased storage an indicator of how much data future titles are set to install, or maybe the size of upcoming downloads? We're not sure, but what we do know is the new 250GB PS3 will cost £300 when it hits retailers...

Bundles are gonna be announced at TGS?

hope they do an upgrade plan like they did with the 120GB slim

i would upgrade my 60GB for the Slim 250GB for like £100 (its £69 to upgrade to 120GB slim in the UK at the mo)

I need to buy a new HD for my PS3. 40GB is not nearly enough for its level of awesomeness.

actually im just going to wait untill the Slim is in amazing colours and comes with like 500GB hard drive, for £199 (it will happen.....one day lol)

I mean thats the point of the door on the side of the PS3 no?

You'd be much better off saving week by week until you've got enough to buy it.
