"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.
Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

You don't become a huge corporation out of no where though. Smart business decisions are a factor, so he is correct. That goes for any corporation though... |
Thank you CGI for pointing that out.
While Sony is a multi-billion dollar corporation. They didn't get to that point by making bad decisions. Which is almost all that Sega did during the 90's.
It's easy to just point out that Sony is the cause for Sega's hardware demise, but that isn't the only factor. Sony had an open door development policy throughtout their first 2 generations. they became very (understandibly though) arrogant with the launch of the PS3. Which I think they have come a long way to prove that they are back in the trenches fighting this "war" with Nintendo and Microsoft.
Nintendo was pushed to their limits as well by Sony. Not because Sony was "money hatting", but because they let developers into the "circle". They made it easy for 3rd parties to learn the Playstation 1/2 tech in return they help train Sony on how to make games. That was the biggest selling point with the PS1.
Wow this could be huge. I wonder how much of the stuff mentioned in that document will actually happen though.
Also, lol @ the butthurt Sega fans.
