The previews on this have not been very exciting -- essentially saying it is not much more than a recycled game.

If I were a PS3 owner and still had access to a PS2, I think I would go with the originals. I wonder if we would have seen this title had B/C been maintained.

(I also wonder, given how many PS2 --> Wii ports there are, why Namco has not put this series on Nintendo's console in some way, shape or form. And they have some idea how to do motion controls since there is an iPhone version).

this game uses both analogs.

the wii mote doesn't have two analogs. well thats what i can think of really.

True -- I have both PS2 games and love the tank-like controls (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tank_(arcade_game)).

But you can accomplish something similar with tilting motions -- as Namco has done with the iPhone version (which I have demoed).

So it may really just be a development choice -- though one that probably has a company leaving money on the table.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

I might pick it up today. Is this title including all the previous levels or something?

Or is it a completely new game?

its the same as the one on Xbox 360 but with few extras (like changing the artstyle manually) and 1080p , plus remixed soundtrack

so if you have it on X360 its the same game.

It's the same game as the 360 version? Wasn't the 360 Katamari considered to be a low-point in the franchise? Aside from garnering lower scores than it predessesors, I seem to remember reading that the difficulty was quite unbalanced. Maybe I should just get an older PS2 Katamari.

I don't know about that... could be personal preference.  I played Beautiful Katamari through several times... it's VERY addictive.  The only level that seemed a little bit out-of-balance was Mars, which had a timer and required the player to avoid picking up specific items.

I played this at E3! Everybody with a PS3 must get it! It has a gorgeous cell-shaded art style this time! AND THEY ADDED JUMPING!!!! WOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Considering Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and a few other games are coming out really soon and I still log about an hour plus per day on Blazblue, this is the kind of game I'm waiting for a price drop to $20 or $30 before I make my purchase.

I'm definitely getting the game, just a few months after release.

That's what I did with Beautiful Katamari on the 360.  I didn't want to spend that much money on a "casual" title... but after I got it I spent probably 50 hours playing it through more than once.  It's such a strange concept for a game, but also so addictive as well.

No way.
With Demon Souls, Alpha Protocol, Brutal Legend and Dragon age coming in Q4 i'll already bancrupt on games :)

I wasn't very impressed by the demo. Only played the first Katamari for the PS2 some years ago and loved it though. So I might get this one at a later time.
