nonsense and crow eating material

 Wow! Funny as hell, pure comedy gold!

But, will you think of the crow? Do you want to make them extinct or what?

What a way to start the new year ^_^;

yeah something like that

This thread will someday obtain the rank of cult classic in these forums. Every time Nintendo has a fantastic week this thread is resurrected from the nether world to walk among the living. Which quite frankly I don't mind a bit. I think its rather a shame however that only the Nintendo lieutenants resurrect this thread.

We can call you on it in the crow eating thread if you prefer.

Since this thread was written Nintendo's ungodly market domination has flagged on some occasions, and outright failed on others. To be as blunt as possible the sales are not necessarily consistent. The question was never winning, but winning by how much.

The question was (and I quote you): "The question is will Nintendo have that kind of domination again."

Nintendo did have that kind of domination last week; your question is answered by the positive, Nintendomination happened again the week prior to Christmas. It sold more than 2xPS3 and more than 2x360 and had more than 50% of the current gen home console market. It fits your definition.

For instance during the previous week. The Wii did not double over the sales of any competitor they did not accomplish a multiple.

Yes it did:

360 = 594,520 * 2 =  1,189,040 < Wii = 1,457,872

PS3 = 619,388 * 2 = 1,238,776  < Wii = 1,457,872

360+PS3 = 594,520+619,388 = 1,213,908 < Wii = 1,457,872

Granted the numbers might be adjusted to be more accurate but given the margin it is unlikely that it will change things much.

Which is required for Nintendomination to occur. They didn't even control over forty percent of the market.

1,457,872/(1,213,908 + 1,457,87) * 100 = 54.56

Wrong again.

That is hardly the sales we come to expect from the Nintendo Wii. During that week the Wii couldn't even pull off a three to one advantage over the PS3 in Japan.

Wii JP divided by PS3 JP for the week before Christmas:

268,954 /55,119 = 4.87

You are right, they didn't manage to triple them, they almost quintupled them.

Interestingly enough this thread never gets resurrected when Nintendo has one of those off weeks when Nintendomination is nowhere to be found, but it does show up when Nintendo has a singular incredible week. So the question is this why didn't the PS3 loyalists or the 360 loyalists resurrect this thread during that week? The only answer is they are reasonable, or perhaps have greater class.

Or they know that they would eat more crow by playing this game as most week last year were dominated by Nintendo and so will it be for at least the next few months.

Anyway this thread is only cherry picked for the best possible Nintendo week rather then a average normal week.

Nope, it was cherry picked for the best PS3 and the best 360 week, which makes domination even more difficult.

While some cite stockpiling as an excuse. Thats a flaw of the Wii as much as the 360s technical issues, or the PS3 being overly expensive. You can What if the scenarios all you like, but it doesn't change the fact that Nintendomination has already flagged on multiple occasions the first being the reason this thread was written.

True, and Nintendomination will flag again this year when major games like MGS4 ship, or when a price drop arrives and again at Christmas 08. The question was never "will Nintendomination be here forever" but "will it come back". It did and it flagging during most of Christmas doesn't change that your feeling that it wouldn't come back was wrong.

You can spin the numbers all you like, but the fact that you do not summon this thread on bad Nintendo weeks is just a proof that you know your wrong.

How can we be wrong? We only needed one week to prove your assertion that it wouldn't come back wrong, it just happened a few weeks earlier than expected. It is only your insistance on saying you are right even when proven wrong that compels us to rub your nose in it. Not resurrecting this thread when Nintendo has a "bad" week (since when is selling more than either of your competitors worldwide abad thing) would only prove us wrong if the premise was that Nintendomination would stay forever, which it never was.

Sqrls own post verifies what I am saying. During the last period of October through December the Wii did not outsell either console by a multiple. In other words Nintendo did not fulfill the requirement for Nintendomination a victory by multiple. Which I stated clearly, and clarified on the first page of this thread. I am right the numbers bear me out.

Your original posts stated: "They did not dominate this week, and they have not had that kind of obscene domination for a few weeks for example in North America."

Apparently the only way you can claim victory is by changing the goalposts from weekly domination to quarterly domination. The Nintendomination returned according to your original weekly definition but don't worry, we can always necro this thread when it returns for Q1 08. All it will do is buy you 3 months of pretending you were right until you need to move the goalposts again to yearly domination. Eventually the Wii will have more than 50% market share up from less than 50% when you started this thread at which point it will become even more laughable for you to argue that you were right.

 I really wonder what happened to you. You used to have well reasoned posts back when I was lurking but while you still have some of these you also seem to troll more and more (like stating as facts things about last weeks sales that are proven wrong by the front page).

It's really a shame.

First to 19 Million... The power of the Wii must be dying, if not dead now... oh no... =)

Besides, even if it does slow... Price cut magic will save it! $199.99 + Zelda added in.

Exactly my thoughts about Dodece as well.

 Sri Lumpa, I like your style. As usual my thoughts are exactly the same as Rol's.

 Thank you, I try to make good posts, which makes it harder to be noticed than when you spam ;) especiallywhen there are plenty of great posters here that say whatever I might think of adding to the conversation before I even open a thread.

I generally enjoy your posts too (among many others).

@Soriku: he brought it on himself.

I guess I will have to make a... BET!!!

Yes folks leo-j will make a bet with this guy right here.

The ps3 wil outsell the wii and the xbox 360(individually..) in world wide sales holidays 2007,and do near ps2 like numbers for the whole year 2008.

You guys underestimate the market leader, you think there idiots? You guys dont know the consumer at all. I have been analyzing this for a long time. Expect to be extreemly suprised. In fact another bet...

By november 17th(ps3 1st year anniversary) The ps3 will outsell all systems(exclusing the ds and the psp)

Can I still take this bet? XD
