Yes, but you can also generally build a more powerful desktop for half the price or less, which generally makes them shit.

Well, i really don't pretend to play games CoD and stuff in the notebook, i play this with the 360/ps3. Actually, something that runs The Sims 3 and Diablo 3 is already enough for me, but i really wanted a better Notebook to use as media center.

Get a desktop. Use passwords to make sure others can't use it. It'll be less than half the price for more than twice the speed.

e.g.

Athlon II X2 240
785G motherboard
4GB DDR2
Case/Optical drive/PSU

~$260

That should play Sims 3/Diablo etc. Or with $100 graphics card that beats the laptop one, $360.

Hi, I found this one at BestBuy(pay attention in the model!) and I think it has a pretty good value to price. It have similar specs to the another one and costs near half the price. Do you think it's specs are enough to be a Media Center? Will it be able to run The Sims 3 in high-medium?

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9445718&type=product&id=1218105504639#tabbed-customerreviews

It's a big change in the money, with the money I'll save i could buy other interesting things! And my brother could use the other 2 ones for porn as much as he wants!

that laptop barely meets the minimum requirements for the sims 3 (mostly because of the processor).

It doesn't even have a video card, either.

@lotus, look at the laptop I linked on this page about halfway up.

THat laptop is much better than anything else you are going to get for the price.

Sorry!

It looks actually pretty good! I'll put this one in the cart. You're right, we have to look for pcs out the famous brands.

i do all my shopping on pricegrabber, you really do get the best stuff.

My Acer is just incredible for what I paid for it, it even has a BD drive.

The thing is, since i'm not the one who is going to buy those things i don't know how the person see internet shopping. I'm using the internet price just as a base for how much will cost everything I want. I have a 2200$ budget, and want to get as much electronics as I can with this money. You know, those notebook from HP i posted above is considered a pretty good one for Brazil standards, and costs near 1600$ and costs 500$ in U.S. Well, life is not fair...
