Get a desktop. Use passwords to make sure others can't use it. It'll be less than half the price for more than twice the speed.

Athlon II X2 240
785G motherboard
4GB DDR2
Case/Optical drive/PSU
~$260
That should play Sims 3/Diablo etc. Or with $100 graphics card that beats the laptop one, $360.
